Fillers

Fillers provide an easy, non-surgical alternative for those who want to enhance their appearance. Whether you are looking for plumper lips, fuller cheeks, a tighter-looking jawline, or just a more youthful look all around, fillers are a simple way to achieve this. This treatment is a popular choice among many because of the natural-looking results with a short recovery time compared to cosmetic surgery options.

The Treatment Process

Filler requires no specific preparation and is a short procedure. However, there are a few recommendations to help the process go as smoothly as possible. For example, it is suggested that you do not drink alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment, and to stop any blood thinner medication a week prior. The procedure lasts no longer than 60 minutes and the effects can be seen for 6 months to a year. Oftentimes numbing gel is applied to lessen or completely get rid of the pain that may come with the injection. The number of syringes used depends on the patient and the area being treated, but typically patients are satisfied with the results from 1 to 3 syringes. The side effects of filler are minor and last no longer than 7 days. Some minor side effects may include swelling, bruising, itching, or redness, but these are all temporary. Your fully healed results can be seen in 7 to 14 days after your injection.

Our Filler Options

We offer three filler options at Beauty & Aesthetics by Total Health. The first option is Revanesse Versa. Versa is a premium product that can give you 20% more product in one syringe. This brand has been around since 2012 and is used in over 80 countries around the world. The accurate results of Revaneese Versa can be seen immediately. Many patients choose Versa because it provides 30% more spherical particles compared to other filler brands. The spherical product penetrates the skin in a more effective way leading to less bruising and less swelling.

The second option we offer is Juvéderm. Juvéderm is the #1 dermal filler in the world and can provide volume in different locations of the face without surgery. Juvéderm uses HA, or hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance found in the body to temporarily restore the magnitude beneath the surface of the skin. Patients are happy with their results from Juvéderm and have reported satisfaction from a younger and fuller look.

The third option we offer is RHA Collection. The RHA Collection is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler made with a calm manufacturing process. This process helps preserve the natural structure of hyaluronic acid, which allows the natural hyaluronic acid to closely resemble the acid on your skin. The natural hyaluronic acid in your skin helps provide moisture, volume, and structure and as time passes, your skin starts to produce less hyaluronic acid. The RHA Collection closely mimics the HA that already exists in our skin to show results of a more natural look. This filler is aimed to be long-lasting, with proven clinical effectiveness and a duration of up to 15 months. The difference between RHA Collection and other dermal fillers is that it is the latest advancement in HA filler technology, designed to perform in the most dynamic areas of the face without looking stiff or unnatural.

Filler Removal

Although our providers are trained to execute very natural-looking fillers, we understand some may have their doubts. If you are worried about filler being too permanent, being unhappy with your results, or about changing your mind after the treatment, it is valuable information to know that filler can be removed at any time. Filler can be dissolved, but it is recommended you wait at least two weeks before dissolving the filler so that swelling can go down in order to see accurate results. In general, filler is not permanent and typically lasts about 6 months to a year depending on the patient.

Filler vs. Botox

Both Filler and Botox can be used to give someone a younger look and enhance physical attributes. If you are unsure of which direction to take for your personal beauty goals, consider the different uses for each. Botox is an injection used to freeze muscles to restrict their movement and prevent and/or lessen wrinkles. It targets nerves to stop the movement of wrinkle-causing facial expressions. Fillers, on the other hand, are typically used to add volume or plump the skin. Fillers can even out fine lines, plump lips or cheeks, enhance your jawline, and more. There are a wide range of filler areas which makes this treatment a popular choice in targeting specific features to enrich the look of your entire face.

A common question that many patients have is “What is the difference between lip fillers and a lip flip?” A lip flip is performed using Botox and is injected into the cupid’s bow to give a more outward or flipped look of the lips. This process only takes about 10 to 20 minutes and is often a good choice for those who are nervous about committing to lip fillers. Lip flips offer a more subtle change to one’s physical appearance because it does not alter the natural shape of your lips. The treatment is less invasive and only lasts about 4 to 6 weeks, so it can help patients warm up to the idea of lip fillers in the future. Patients may also enjoy the results of both lip flips and lip filler when used together. The results of these two treatments combined give a fuller, more defined look of the lips without them disappearing when you smile.
