Who I Am
Dr. Andrew Ruiz, DPT received his Doctorate from University of St. Augustine and his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from University of Misericordia. He is certified in Sportsmetrics ACL Prevention Program and studied post-graduate courses in athletic shoulder, therapeutic yoga, comprehensive knee treatment and Analyzing Running Mechanics. Dr. Ruiz is also fluent in both English and Spanish.
What I Do Here
Dr. Ruiz has been at Total Health since 2011. He is a Physical Therapist as well as the Director of Sports Performance. He trains patients in speed, agility, explosiveness and other personal goals. He treats professional and collegiate athletes down to high school and youth players and has transitioned high-school players into Division I athletes. He also holds sports clinics for children at an off-site facility.
In addition to athletic training, he also works with orthopedic doctors in the surrounding area and handles orthotic fittings at the facility.
What I Enjoy
Dr. Ruiz played collegiate basketball where he was on the NCAA All-Academic Team. He continues to coach basketball today and also plays in a Men’s Basketball league. He is also a Strength and Conditioning Coach for AAU.
