Who I Am
Dr. Iris Jaramillo D.P.T, C.K.T.P graduated with honors from Kean University in 2003 where she received her Bachelor’s degree in economics. She then earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy with Summa Cum Laude at the University of Medicine & Dentistry New Jersey in 2006. During her graduate studies, Dr. Jaramillo completed clinical affiliations in acute care/trauma unit at UMDNJ, subacute setting at Mountainside Hospital, as well as outpatient orthopedic setting at Trinitas Hospital and Advanced Physical Therapy. Following graduation from UMDNJ, Dr. Jaramillo started her career with Cerebral Palsy League where she treated pediatric patients with various neurologic and orthopedic conditions.
What I Do Here
Bilingual in both Albanian and English, Dr. Jaramillo joined the Total Health team in March of 2006. She continues to bring her experience and the latest, most effective rehabilitation programs to her patients through evidence-based practice and continuing education courses. Dr. Jaramillo is a certified Kinesio-Taping practitioner and has completed her postgraduate studies in the Mckenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the lumbar, cervical and thoracic spine, Maitland Spinal and Peripheral approach, Spinal and Peripheral Manipulation, Sacroiliac Mobilization, Vestibular rehabilitation, The Runners Rehab Program and The John Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach.
What I Enjoy
Dr. Jaramillo has been an athlete since she was young, playing on her high school volleyball team. She continues to be an energetic individual who enjoys multi-sport recreation such as cross-fit, weightlifting, running and yoga. She also helps organize and participates in local 5k runs.
